Italian Marie Claire April 2010

04/27/2010

Ok, ok, I know that the May issue is already out in Italy but I have only just come across this editorial from the April  edition of the mag and I was floored. I don’t usually like to post zillions of editorial images on here as there are so many other blogs that do a great job at compiling them all in a much more timely manner, but in this case I decided to make an exception.

The color palette contains everything that I’m excited about in fashion right now which, if you’re wondering, is the spectrum of colors for one thing, but also the  idea of bright colors in toned down hues. Brilliaaant. The images all radiate  that feeling of mid-july, thick, suffocating summer air, and the bright light beating down throughout the series shows off those awesome washed-out tones wonderfully and so fittingly. The best part has to be the amount of statement pieces used in the shoot (the shoes, the jewel encrusted dress, the headpiece…) that don’t seem to stand out like they normally would. Everything just meshes together in this perfect moment of styling genius where every piece is appreciated by way of the outfit as a whole.
